Board of Directors Meeting
06-21-2011
A Quorum was established and the meeting was called to order at 5:05 pm. In attendance were board members George Meriwether, Jim Trimble, Pete Schroeder, Steve Gause, Jim Moulton and Jan Kenyan; Board member not in attendance – Jim Higgins. Also in attendance, Debbie Dennis – clerk; there were 2 visitors present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were distributed and reviewed. Jim Trimble moved to approved the minutes as written and Pete Schroeder seconded the motion; motion carried.
Comments from the Audience: None
There will be a boat parade on July 2, 2011 at 5 p.m. After the parade everyone is invited to the Byars for a hamburger cookout. Please bring guests, side dishes and desserts as well as chairs. Everyone welcome!
Treasurer Report:
Jan Kenyan moved to approve the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded by Jim Trimble; motion carried.
Committee Reports:
Architectural Committee:
Inspected and approved new home plans for Steve Gause
Approved a cover for Poplawski
Budget and Finance: None
By-Laws / Policy Committee:
A meeting has been scheduled for 6-30 to establish procedures for this committee.
Security/Neighborhood Watch Committees:
There are no available grants at this time for neighborhood security systems.
AVFD/Firewise: None
Grounds/Lake Maintenance Committee:
Volunteers have been mowing the runway and this is working very well. Thank you to all of our volunteers. The savings from 2010 to 2011 are over $4,400 to date.
There are two new burn ban signs being made and they will be ready shortly.
July 9th has been set as the next “Adopt-a-Highway” trash pick-up date. Let’s meet at 7 a.m. at the runway.
TECQ Inspection of Lake Dam: Nothing new at this time.
Water Samples will be collected and sent to AnaLab in Kilgore for testing.
Weevils: The weevils seem to be doing best near underground streams where the water is cooler. There is evidence of the weevils surviving from season to season.
The Northwest cove area is the next area targeted for AquaCide pellet distribution.
Communications Committee:
There are revisions forthcoming for the phone tree but it is off to a good start.

Compliance:
There are complaints about RV’s remaining on lots longer than 15 days in a month. This issue will be investigated for a possible solution.

The Annual Meeting will be held at 5:00 July 19, 2011 at the Avinger School.
