Eagle Landing Board of Directors Meeting

In attendance were board members Trent Gale, Frank Galloway, Tom Minor, Jim Byars, Jim Trimble and George Meriwether. Board members not in attendance were Glenn Terry.  There were 3 visitors present.

 

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.  Motion was made by Tom Minor and seconded by George Meriwether; motion carried.

 

Old Business:

Wildlife Management:  Penny Wilkerson from the Texas Parks & Wildlife delivered some information on how to count and control the deer population in the Eagle Landing Community.  She will be in contact with Frank Galloway to set a camera survey or stand count in order to determine the size of the deer population.

 

Security:  There was a major arrest in the area.  The Cass County Sheriff’s Department apprehended Chris Layton.  The ELHA Board will write a letter to the Department thanking them for their increased patrol of the Eagle Landing Community and commending them on the arrest.

 

Fire Substation:  The Committee received 5 bids on the proposed project.  The low bidder was Ron Golden with a bid of $29,400.  This bid includes all electrical work.  A motion was made by Jim Byars – committee chairman – to accept the bid from Ron Golden.  Frank Galloway seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

The board appointed George Meriwether and Frank Galloway to oversee the contractor and the project.

 

Mowing Contract:  There were 3 bids read for the mowing contract.  A motion was made by Jim Byars and seconded by Tom Minor to accept the low bid from Versatile Support; motion carried unanimously.

 

 

New Business:

Elections:  There are 4 positions coming open for election on the ELHA Board in May.  Anyone interested should contact a board member as soon as possible.
