Board of Directors Meeting

11-18-2008

In attendance were board members Trent Gale, Frank Galloway, Tom Minor, Jim Byars, Jim Trimble, Glenn Terry and George Meriwether.  There were 4 visitors present.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.  Motion was made by Frank Galloway and seconded by Tom Minor; motion carried.

Old Business:

The report from the Eagle Landing Fire Station vote was given.  The votes were counted by Joyce Averitt, Deborah Simpler and Sparky Hallead.  There were 103 ballots received with 3 ineligible ballots. There were a total of 185 eligible votes; 143 votes for, 42 votes against.  The Proposal for an Eagle Landing Fire Station passed.

The Board is still working with surrounding law enforcement concerning security in Eagle Landing.  Other outside sources are being investigated as well.

New Business:

A motion was made by Tom Minor and seconded by Jim Trimble to form a Fire Station subcommittee of the Board to oversee the implementation of the proposal.  To serve on the committee are board members Jim Byars – chairman, Frank Galloway and Jim Trimble.  Volunteer Fire Department members will be consulted.  Motion carried

A contract proposal from Debbie Dennis was presented.  The contract was identical to the previous year with no changes.  Motion was made by Tom Minor and seconded by Jim Byars to accept the contract; motion carried.

Committee Reports:

Treasurer Report:

A motion was made by Tom Minor and seconded by Jim Byars to approve the treasurer’s report; motion carried.

Architectural Committee: 

Approvals were given for the following projects:

              Phil McDonald – boat shed; needs changes

              Mike Sutton – metal shop; needs changes

Common Area:

Work has resumed on the bridge.

A bid was submitted by Van Templeton for mowing the dam.  The board tabled this item pending further bids.

The mowing contract will go out for bid in February.

Community:

A thank you note was received and read from the G T Starrett family.
