Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
March 24, 2008
On Monday, March 24, 2008 there was a regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors at the Avinger School Cafeteria. Board members in attendance were Trent Gale, Jim Byars, Jim Trimble, Tom Minor, Glenn Terry and Dr. Steven LeGrow. Board members not in attendance were Frank Galloway. There were 2 guests present.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved as written. The motion was made by Tom Minor and seconded by Glenn Terry.
Old Business:
Deer Count: Frank Galloway was not in attendance to give an update on this issue.
Security: There have been no new reports of vandalism but the Board encourages Eagle Landing Community Members to be alert and vigilant.
Sawmill: Trent Gale will contact the supervisor at the sawmill to see if this issue can be resolved amicably.
Roads: There has been work initiated on the Eagle Landing Community roads.
Hog Activity: There are still reports coming in of hog activity, particularly in the dam area.
New Business:
Dog Control: A homeowner has reported attacks and a bite by a neighborhood dog. Texas State law requires owners to contain their animals. The Board will post the state law on the bulletin board and on the web site to raise the awareness of pet owner responsibility.
Three Board Positions are open for election at the May annual meeting. The three sitting board members – Glenn Terry, Frank Galloway and Dr. Steven LeGrow – will run for re-election.
Pete Schroeder from the Avinger Volunteer Fire Department requested a spot on the Homeowner’s Annual Meeting agenda. This request was granted.
Committee Reports:
Treasurer Report:
Total receipts for February were $231. Total expenses for February were $1,031. Operating cash balance at the end of February is $28,638. CD & Savings balances total $81,902. Receivables outstanding balance at the end of February is $6,258.
Architectural Committee:
The architectural committee has approved all requests to date. The committee is undertaking to clarify and publish the architectural guidelines for the Homeowners. It has also been agreed to devise a notification sign to post at construction sites to communicate with the homeowners as well as the contractors.
Common Area:
The lake has been stocked with 5,000 channel catfish 4-6 inches long as well as 100 one-pound Florida strain bass.
Milfoil weevils: The milfoil weevils will be introduced to the lake in the first two weeks in May.
There has not been a contract for the mowing of the common area submitted to date. Glenn Terry will request a new contract.
