Board of Directors Meeting

Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm.  In attendance were board members Frank Galloway, Tom Minor, Jim Higgins, Jim Trimble, Glenn Terry and George Meriwether. Board member not in attendance was Jan Kenyan.  There were 2 visitors present.

 

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written.  Motion was made by Tom Minor and seconded by George Meriwether; motion carried.

 

Old Business:

Lawsuit:   Still waiting on Ms Kenyan to be deposed.  Ms Kenyan is unable to travel at this time; therefore the deposition has not been scheduled.

 

Fire Substation:  AEP donated 6 loads of flex base.   The approximate cost to haul will be $360.  Approved

 

New Business:

The lake spillway is not working properly.  It needs to be cleaned out.  The estimated cost of this is $2,500.  The grounds committee agrees that some action needs to be taken.   A motion was made by Glenn Terry and seconded by Tom Minor to hire Steve Putman to dig out the spillway as soon as possible; motion carried.

 

Committee Reports:

Treasurer Report:

Total cash and CD’s as of 9-30-2009 are $69,927.  Revenues received through 9-30-2009 are $34,354.  Expenditures for the same period are $29,843, resulting in a net increase in cash of $4,511 for the period.  There is $6,371 in outstanding dues at this time.

 

 A motion was made by Tom Minor and seconded by Glenn Terry to accept the treasurer report: motion carried.

 

Architectural Committee: 

George Meriwether submitted a request to build a 12 x 16 cedar pergola.  The committee recommends approval of this project.  Approved

 

Common Area: 

The county commissioner is aware of the wash outs in Eagle Landing’s roads and will get to it when he can.

 

The mowing should be complete for 2009.

Community:

Laurie Rich, Principle of the Avinger ISD, presented a power point on the tax ratification election.  The District will receive over $170,000 annually by raising the rate from 1.04 to 1.17.
