Eagle Landing Annual Meeting Minutes

On Saturday, May 5, 2007 there was the annual homeowners meeting at the Avinger School.  Board members in attendance were Trent Gale, Kristy Carter, Glenn Terry and Frank Galloway.  Board members not in attendance were Bob Kenyan.  There were 60 plus homeowners in attendance.  There was a meal beginning at noon.  The annual meeting was called to order at 1:00.

I.  A representative from The First State Bank of Avinger spoke about the services their bank can offer, and urged Eagle Landing members to bank with a hometown bank.

II. Darren Jacobs urged Eagle Landing members to get out and vote at the upcoming Avinger School Board election.  He also gave an update on the school’s achievements.

III. Van Templeton spoke about the Avinger Fire Department.  The Fire Departments membership is around 22, this includes a few Eagle Landing residents.  Van thanked the board and Eagle Landing members for support.  With the hard work that the fire department puts in and the support given by Eagle Landing has helped get us an ISO rating of 7 to 6/9.

IV. Four positions were open to serve on the Eagle Landing Board of Directors.  Those voted into board member positions are:  Trent Gale, Jim Byars, Jim Tremble, and Tom Minor.  Frank Galloway, Bob Kenyan, and Glenn Terry will continue to serve in their two year term. 

Open discussion during meeting:

• Deer population – The state will come out and access our deer population and the health of our deer.

• Lake management – We will continue to work on the weed problem.  Questions were brought up about putting Channel Catfish in the lake to improve the health of the lake and about putting in Florida Bass. 

• Vandalism – There was talk about getting a neighborhood watch together.

Eagle Landing Minutes continued: 

• Dumpsters – There was talk about a fenced security system to help control illegal dumping.  If you see anyone using dumpster that is not an Eagle Landing member, get the license plate number and report it.

Website – We have now turned our website over to Jan Kenyan and expect it to be up and running soon.

Building to hold fire trucks and community use – We did not have a good response at the January meeting.  Those in attendance at the annual meeting were in agreement in getting a building like this.  The board will continue to look into this concern.

The old board adjourned and the new board met to discuss upcoming meeting.
